The Story
The homeowners wanted a complete transformation of their kitchen, not a light refresh. Every element was on the table: new cabinetry throughout, new flooring, and a new backsplash. They also wanted to open the space up, removing a wall so the kitchen could flow into an open concept layout instead of feeling closed off.
What started as a project where the homeowners expected to keep their existing appliances grew as the plan came together. By the time selections were finalized, the scope included a full new appliance suite to match the rest of the remodel. The completed project came in at $147,779.
The Transformation
- Layout: A wall was removed to open the kitchen into a connected, open concept space.
- Cabinetry: All-new white cabinetry throughout the kitchen, including dedicated island and pantry cabinets.
- Appliances: A full new suite, including a Miele dishwasher, a 36″ six-burner Viking gas range with a matching island hood, a Viking 42″ side-by-side refrigerator, a 30″ Viking wine cellar, and a Sharp 24″ microwave drawer.
- Backsplash: A custom Daltile glass backsplash in a picket tile shape with a glossy finish, the standout feature of the space.
- Flooring: New luxury vinyl plank flooring installed throughout the first floor.
- Fixtures: A Delta pull-down kitchen faucet with a magnetic docking spray head, an InSinkErator garbage disposal, and a pendant light over the island.

Why remove a wall in the kitchen? Opening the layout let the kitchen become one connected, functional space instead of a closed-off room. It was one of the homeowners’ top priorities from the start.
Why upgrade to a full new appliance suite? The original plan assumed the existing appliances would stay, but as the design came together, the homeowners chose to invest in a coordinated new suite, including a full-size Viking range, hood, refrigerator, and wine cellar, so every element of the kitchen matched the level of the remodel around it.
Why a custom glass backsplash? The Daltile glass backsplash gives the kitchen a genuine focal point. Its glossy, textured picket shape adds depth and a tasteful pop of color against the surrounding finishes.
